Happy April Snow Day, Bushwick!

It may be cold outside, but our events are smokin’ hot. We’ve curated five activities for you this week to get your blood pumping!

Snap some pics at one of the events below and tag Bushwick Daily on Instagram to have your work included in our weekly photo roundup. We want to see how awesome your life is.

monday: Late Mic

9-11 p.m. at The Topaz, 251 Bushwick Ave.

Do you think you’re famous? Do you often dream of the day when you’ll appear on a late-night talk show and tell the world about the intimate details of your life ? You can do a practice run tonight at The Topaz where two hosts will be interviewing people on stage for five-minute chats. Sign up at 9 p.m. No cover charge; the embarrassment is free.

Thursday: Japanese hair dresser

6-8 p.m. at Step Bone Cut Studio, 229 Cook St. 2nd floor

Sayrui Ushio, founder of the patented hair technology Step Bone Cut, is showcasing her concept that a haircut is a work of art. Ushio’s instillation will express the life of hair in comparison to the life of a plant. Mannequins with unique hair designs will show how life swells in your hair, just as it does for a plant. With her drawings, painted on large window canvases and mannequins, this exhibition will give viewers a peek into Ushio’s creative process.

Halfway Btwn a White Castle and a Taco Bell: A Lip-Sync Xtravaganza

8 p.m.-12 a.m. at The Bad Old Days, 16-84 Woodbine St., Ridgewood

Ever wish you could sing? Well you’re in luck! Bad Old Days and Built for Collapse is rounding up some music videos, local characters, and small-batch cocktails to create an explosion of impromptu musical frivolity. Join in on an evening of music, prizes, hi-drama, higher cheekbones, and possibly some little, greasy burgers.

Friday: the champagne riot

7:30-9:30 p.m. at The Guadalupe Inn, 1 Knickerbocker Ave.

The Champagne Riot, a Brooklyn vintage fantasy party, is bringing a fizzy-buzzy celebration of jazz, burlesque and vaudeville to The Guadalupe Inn. The show features 2016’s Queen of Burlesque, Poison Ivory, and other boylesque wunderkind. The Inn serves upscale, authentic Mexican and excellent cocktails. The dinner menu is available until midnight, so you can dine during the show.

Saturday: Therapy Nutrition/Market to benefit Educated little monsters

1-5 p.m. at The Silent Barn, 603 Bushwick Ave.

This event has it all: yoga, meditation, art market, and cooking at DIY space The Silent Barn. Bring ur own veggies, fruits, and “nutritions” to cook up a meal, or just chill out with some non-goat yoga. All proceeds benefit Educated Little Monsters.
