Attend a Wild Live Talk Show with a Self-Proclaimed Psychotherapist at The Footlight Tonight

Dr. Lisa Levy S.P. does give a shit.

Katarina Hybenova

If you've been reading Bushwick Daily for a while you know that the long lineup of our past and present contributors includes many (locally) famous personalities.

One of them, Dr. Lisa Levy S.P., is a comedic self-proclaimed psychotherapist and an artist (her most well-known piece included her sitting naked at a toilet for 48 hours), who will be hosting a live talk show, Dr. Lisa Gives a Shit, tonight at 7 p.m. at Ridgewood's Footlight (456 Seneca Ave.).

"The idea for the live show came because I've had so many really talented and awesomely weird guests on my show," Levy told Bushwick Daily. "I spent most of my time with them in the studio, and I wanted to put their work on display."

Levy has been doing her a live talk show at Radio Free Brooklyn for over two years now, ranking over 100 episodes (all are available for a listen online). Among other people she has "psychoanalyzed" celebs such as Joe Gordon-Levitt or Amy Schumer.

Tonight's live show will be hosted by Colby Smith who herself is a Radio Free Brooklyn personality with a show called Young Person’s Radio.

The guests include pornographer Porno Jim; comedian Moreno Monolo; visual artist Savannah Spirit; and stage manager Maddy Rosaler.

According to Levy, the surprise of the night will be pornographer Porno Jim showing some porno made by his therapy patients. (Talk about doctor-patient confidentiality.)

The admission is pay-what-you-wish and all the proceeds go towards the operation of Radio Free Brooklyn, which is a Bushwick-based non-profit.

Stay also after the show for The Footlight's long-running open mic night, Talent Show.
