Northside Festival took place this past weekend. Relive all the best moments here!

Northside Festival has come and gone, but the pictures last forever.

Last weekend, the neighborhood was electric with the excitement of live music under the scorching summer sun. Northside gives independent bands and venues alike a unique opportunity to showcase what they have to offer in one non-stop, jam-packed weekend-long event. Moreover, everyone else gets to venue-hop to their heart’s desire and see an almost endless amount of talented artists. There’s an undeniable energy in the air.

Our neighborhood is home to almost a third of participating venues, yet the largest event of the weekend was probably the Sunday show in McCarren Park. Emo powerhouse Thursday headlined a free outdoor show in the open lot across the McCarren Hotel & Pool.

Opening for them was the Canadian pop-punk band Pup who despite their humble beginnings are rising quickly after releasing their sophomore album "The Dream is Over" last year.

The heatwave and Northside Festival set a fun tone for the rest of the summer. The weekend ended with everyone tired, sweaty, sunburnt, and happy.

Until next year, Northside. In the meantime, we have photos to remember you by.
