Bushwick’s fave laid back bar and cafe Sunrise/Sunset will make your Tuesday night memorable thanks to two excellent movies they’ll be screening. Get ready for the 1985 movie “Legend,” which starts at 7:30 p.m. And once you’re there, the wine is good, why wouldn’t you sneak in another movie. The 1986 musical fantasy “Labyrinth” starts at 9:30 p.m.
Wednesday: Ellis Ashbrook with Tongues Unknown & The Karma Exchange

Friday: ARKHAM: Walpurgis at Bizarre Bushwick

You just gotta love Bushwick’s Bizarre bar. On Friday they’re hosting a gothic dark dance party to celebrate Halloween’s spring sister holiday, Walpurgis Night. So lace up those boots and corsets, party’s on.
Saturday: The Evolution of Sexuality

On Saturday night, we’re down for an LGBTQ+ dance party at a secret location. The XOXA party collective is bringing together DJs and circus performers. (Don’t you just love Bushwick?). Check out their Insta page for an outfit and mood inspiration.
Sunday: Artist Talk – Hanne Tierney
4-5:30 p.m., Knockdown Center, 52-19 Flushing Ave., Maspeth
Thanks to their giant space and tall ceilings, Knockdown Center has the most interesting art shows in the area. (Also don’t be discouraged by their Maspeth address. KC is easily walkable from the Jefferson L.) On Sunday catch a talk by artist Hanne Tierney whose exhibition “Baby, Said Alice B. Toklas” is currently on view at KC. The show features a a giant self-performing object theater, which includes a series of vignettes that come to life as cloth figures, hula hoops, and satin configurations, which gesture, twirl, and sway, manipulated by a system of motors and robotic electronics, designed by engineer Oskar Strautmanis.
