Who isn’t a sucker for some claymation? Mimi Oz and her band, Rooster, enlisted the help of local animator Edwin Chavez to recreate a cleaner and cheerier version of Bushwick’s Myrtle Avenue J train station in clay.
“Baby on the J” is a song based on a true story and features a catchy refrain and “themes of fate-found love in the New York City’s subway system.” You can check it out below!
If you like what you hear, Rooster’s first EP comes out in just a few weeks, and it looks like they’ll be at The Footlight on February 1.
