Wild Cub

This week’s Listening Party focuses on the band Wild Cub. Listening Party is a curated weekly column promoting music discovery and encouraging concert-going. Featuring someone we’ve been jamming out to and whom we recommend to the masses, each Listening Party artist has an upcoming show the following week at a local NYC venue. Grab your headphones and read on.

Recent Work: Full length 2012 debut album Youth

As summer slowly fades, Wild Cub’s Youth turns into the perfect companion to reminiscence with about those convivial nights. The songs on this album have a sense of maturity and perspective which all seem to point to the transition out of Youth, hence the title. Jangly percussion, tropical guitar melodies, and thoughtful lyrics spoken in honey-coated vocals make Wild Cub’s sound very uplifting. This is one of those albums that make you feel as if everything and nothing makes sense in your life. Catch Wild Cub this Friday at The Bowery Ballroom.
