Bushwick Daily has been awarded an Independent and Community Journalism Award in 2013 for photography by CUNY Graduate School of Journalism; our work has been featured by the New York Times, New York Magazine, Rolling Stone, NY Observer, and among others.
We have been nominated in 2013 and 2014 for Brooklyn Nightlife Award for the best publisher.
Later on Katarina’s endeavors were joined by Maria Gotay, Wesley Salazar, Sean Alday and a number of others thanks to whom Bushwick Daily has grown into its current reach and size.
Katarina Hybenova was invited on a full scholarship to further research questions pertaining to running a successful hyperlocal publication as a 2014 fellow at Tow Knight Center for Entrepreneurial Journalism at CUNY Graduate School of Journalism.
