Bushwick has been hooked on the at Lucy’s Vietnamese Kitchen for a whole year now!

The beloved neigborhood joint turns one this weekend, and to celebrate, they are having a big party at The Starliner at 1446 Myrtle Ave.

Highlights will include a DJ, a photobooth, special anniversary t-shirts, and even a tattoo artist: for $30, you can choose from three flash pieces and get a quick tattoo to forever memorialize your love of Vietnamese pho and bahn mi.

Owner and head chef Johnny Huynh reflects on the past year of Lucy’s and explains how the “anniversary is mostly about family and community.”

“We always do everything we can to involve the community,” Huynh says. He was born and raised in Bushwick and the restaurant itself is named after his grandmother, Lucy, which is only a further evidence that both family and local community are very important to him. For this reason, hosting the event at their neighbors, The Starliner, which opened earlier this year, was the perfect choice.
