If you're itching to get out of the two bedroom railroad apartment you share with four strangers, here's another opportunity to snag an affordable housing unit in Bushwick! Applications are now open for 810 Flushing Ave. at the corner of Flushing Avenue and Beaver Street for nine below-market units down the block from the controversial Rheingold development site.

This time only one bedroom units are available, and applicants have to make 60 percent of the area median income to qualify. In this case, the limit is $40,080 for one applicant and $45,840 for two. But if you do qualify and make it through the crowded and grueling process, your rent will only come to $1,039.

For comparison, a two bedroom in the same building would cost you about $2,600 at market price.

The building itself features an elevator, balconies, laundry, a rooftop deck, and a fitness center.

As with all affordable housing units throughout the city, preference is given to applicants who already live in the community board where the building is located. So, all of you Bushwick residents south of Flushing Avenue—residents of Community Board 4—have a better shot of getting into this one!

But hurry, applications are due on Sept. 25, and you can expect to be one of thousands vying for a coveted spot.
