Few things are more universally pleasing than cute animals. Now cute animals, in costume, at a bar, all for a good cause? Its a no-brainer.

Bushwick Bark, the neighborhood pet store on Knickerbocker Avenue, is hosting its 4th annual Doggy Costume party at local vegan bar Pine Box Rock Shop on Thursday, October 27 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Get your best friend dressed to impress and come down to the bar to hang out for the evening! All doggy contestants get treats and goodies, and winners get prizes from Bushwick Bark.

This year there will also be local celebrity judges, including Dr Loose, The Neighborhood Vet, Becky, Bushwick’s Best Dog Walker, and Hanna from Evermore Pet Food!

The bar will have themed drink specials for the occasion, including $4 Flying Dog Pints and $4 Grey Hounds to help raise money for SugarMutts Rescue and Bushwick Street Cats, the two organizations the event benefits.

Bushwick Bark is known for its activism on behalf of the neighborhood’s animals. The Bushwick Bark team is constantly searching for loving homes for strays, signal-boosting information about lost pets, and keeping the furry friends of Bushwick well-groomed, well-trained, and well-dressed.

This doggy costume contest is not the only game in town; dog moms and dads can also show off their pup’s cute duds at Irving Square Park’s third annual Howl-A-Ween Dog Costume Festival and Pet Resource Day on Saturday, October 22 (the same day that Tompkins Square Park holds what organizers refer to as “the country’s largest Halloween Parade for dogs—” New Yorkers are weird).

Whether you are a dog owner or just a dog lover, don’t miss this delightful puppy party!

There is a suggested donation of $3-$5 and all proceeds go to SugarMutts Rescue and Bushwick Street Cats.
