WTH Did Our Events Calendar Go
"Where the hell did the events calendar go?!" you may have been asking yourself for the past couple of days
"Where the hell did the events calendar go?!" you may have been asking yourself for the past couple of days. Many of you have emailed me asking that very question. Our events calendar, where anyone in the community can add their events for free, was a super valuable and popular tool in the capital of DIY, Bushwick. Therefore, I am really sad to have to announce that we had to take the calendar down due to many technical difficulties and errors that were threatening the overall performance of the site. There's other third party software out there, but guess what? We've tried them, and they all suck in a very similar fashion. So now what?
Well, cry not! We are a bunch of Bushwick kids and therefore every hurdle means an opportunity for us. We decided to develop our own super-awesome calendar from scratch. I have made friends with a kick ass back-end development firm, and thanks to my fellowship at Tow Knight Center for Entrepreneurial Journalism, I feel like any digital venture is fun and worth exploring especially if the need for it is so great! It certainly is a more difficult and pricey route than just getting another insufficient tool, but at this point I believe it's totally worth it!
To make this happen, we need your help! Guys, you have been using the events calendar, and you have all the knowledge and experience that comes along with that. What did you like about it? What didn't you like about it? What other features of the calendar would you like to see? Please fill out this online form and help us build a calendar that kicks ass!
If you're a business and you want to see that calendar on Bushwick Daily ASAP, help us out! Sponsor the calendar development and see your beautiful logo on the brand new shiny calendar. Interested? Shoot me and email (katarinaATbushwickdaily.com), and I'll tell you about the sponsorship levels and what exactly you'd be getting back!
Now wish us luck! Thanks for your patience, Bushwick!
