It's the stuff of Bushwick nightmares.

Investigators discovered the partially-decomposed body of a building superintendent in a shallow grave in a Bushwick backyard on Friday, police said.

A 41-year-old man was found in the grave with a plastic bag tied around his head. Police are now trying to determine whether the super—who had recently quit his job by text message—was snuffed out by a man who used to have his job, police sources told the New York Daily News.

An anonymous phone tip to detectives on Thursday morning brought police to a two-story home on Himrod Street where they were brushed off by residents of the home who challenged the cops to get a search warrant.

Later that night, detectives mounted the roof of a nearby house to get a better look at the backyard when they noticed an unusual-looking dirt mound under a tree.

On Friday morning, police returned to the residence and got consent to search the backyard where an NYPD K-9 unit discovered a grave near a shovel, a pickax and a can of air freshener, according to the sources.

A tipster said the super had been strangled in another building on Himrod near Evergreen Avenue and the killer moved and buried his body, the Daily News reported.

Medical examiners have yet to determine the cause of death and the victim’s identity has not been released.
