A Manhattan-bound L train struck and killed a man on the tracks between the Bushwick Avenue-Aberdeen Street station and the Wilson Avenue station on the Canarsie line on Tuesday afternoon, officials say.

The FDNY responded to the incident at about 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon, after which L train service was suspended along the five station stretch of the line between Myrtle-Wyckoff and Atlantic Avenue for about three hours.

Service to the five stations resumed with residual delays following the incident.

Beyond confirming that the man was indeed struck between stations, officials did not have details they could provide about the circumstances that resulted in the incident.

Earlier this week, delays during another rush hour on Monday morning, which officials ascribed to the morning’s slushy winter weather conditions, set a grim tone for the week among the city’s straphangers.
