Lena Dunham & Annie Leibovitz: Yes, They Both Hang Out in Bushwick

Screen shot of Vogue.com

Oh Girls, it's all about Girls. Whether you like it or not, Lena Dunham beat you to being the voice of this generation (Do you remember the first episode of the first season when Hannah, high on opium tea, visits her parents' hotel room?). And with the third season having just started on January 12, it doesn't come as as much of a surprise that Lena Dunham graces the cover of this month's Vogue. But don't look for your typical, make up-less Hannah Horvath wearing a shapeless romper. In the Vogue fashion spread, Lena Dunham is beautifully styled, wearing the top designers, and all beautifully shot by iconic photographer, Annie Leibovitz.

Besides the fact that Vogue finally chose a woman whose shape and size don't fall into the 'alien-skinny' model category of your typical Vogue cover girl, you will notice, if you pay attention, that one of the photographs appears to have been taken on the elevated M train platform at Myrtle-Wyckoff with Gates Ave in the background, as one of the commenters on the Ridgewood Social Facebook page suggests. If you have an eye for photography, you only have to appreciate this area at the Bushwick/Ridgewood border as a backdrop for the fancy Vogue photo shoot. And Annie Leibovitz's photography in connection with Lena as a subject definitely showcases this area better than an insane Vogue article about Bushwick from a couple of months ago. What do you think?

Update: Correction of the title. Obvi Myrtle Wyckoff M stop is located in Bushwick, not Ridgewood. It's that border area...
