In late June we have informed you that Community Board 4 meeting was set to discuss a proposed rezoning of nine square blocks off the Flushing Ave J train stop, aka Rheingold Brewery, in order to create an apartment complex with two added streets, open space, and a retail area. In June, Community Board 4 has voted to delay their vote on the project.

We have received an email from Deborah Brown, a Community Board 4 member informing us that “CB 4 will hold a public hearing and vote on Forrest Lots’ ULURP proposal to put 1000 units of mostly market-rate rental housing on the old Rheingold Brewery site. To those who would like to have a voice in shaping the next big developer-driven proposal in Bushwick, please attend this meeting!”

When: Monday, July 29, 6 pm

Where: Audrey Johnson Day Care Center, 272 Moffat Street in Bushwick.
