#10 Dead Celebrity Disco: Part II @ Lot 45, 411 Troutman Street (FRI 10PM, $10)

The Midnight Disco Society presents this fantastic dead celebrity disco in Bushwick at Lot 45, which will provide plenty of danceable music and encourages costumes. So dress like a dead famous person and get into some debauchery with your goblins and ghoul-friends. It’s only $10 but those booty-shaking memories will last an entire morning hangover.

#9 TOXIC SHOCK SYNDROME presents: DEA†H ☧ RI†ES @ EMET PART DEUX, 496 MORGAN AVE (FRI 10PM, $10-$15)

If you feel like hanging out with some skeletons (maybe in costume, maybe not) and potentially shirtless punk rockers (maybe in costume, maybe not), then get scared while watching Brooklyn-based Pawns, Philly’s Void Visions, and Cyberpunk rockers POP 1280. It will be a graveyard smash.

#8 HALLOWEEN Tropical Goth Edition: FOOD STAMPS, SMALL DEATH, DJs Lliam Spills & Chris Video @ Bootleg Bar, 1438 Myrtle Ave (FRI 10PM, FREE)

While you may be unsure what a “tropical Goth Halloween” consists of, one thing that’s clear is that music will be involved, and possibly a blind, punk-rock Casper. Twist and sway while dancing with the vampire next to you to the lo-fi, post-punk sounds of Brooklyn’s Small Death. Maybe your undead dance partner will even find their pulse.

#7 Low Key Presents: Brooklyn Catacombe @ Top Secret Location (SAT 10PM, $20-$40)

Complete with two floors and seven DJ’s prepare for making your way to a secret location in Williamsburg and be sure to fasten your wig firmly to your head. This party guarantees, “superfluous existentialism, visual trippy happiness and interchangeable wheels of darkness & light.” So …get deep with someone dressed like Nietzsche whilst watching projected visuals of ghosts unable to differentiate between light and dark and trying to figure out what it all means.

#6 BangOn!NYC presents: Warehouse of Horrors 2014 feat. Twin Shadow DJ set, Break Science, Purple Disco Machine, Zebra Katz, Random Rab, Space Jesus, Sleepy & Boo + More @ Secret Location (FRI 9PM, $70-$120)

The price is steep, but there’s a Twin Shadow DJ set and carnival rides, so dress like Bob Barker and just make the price be right.

#5 Purling Hiss, King Gizzard & The Wizard Lizard, Meatbodies, Tonstartssbandht @ 338 Moffat Street (FRI 8PM, $15-20)

Panache Booking and Baby’s All Right have cooked up a really fantastic Halloween party at 338 Moffat Street. The show is complete with the soulful, surf-rock songs of King Gizzard & the Wizard Lizard, the experimental, melodic tones of TonStartssbandht, and so much more! Get dizzy, and any other words that involve and I and a Z with good bands, good tunes, and hopefully someone dressed like a members of Thin Lizzy.

#4 Celestial Shore, Ava Luna, Baked, Palehound, We Can All Be Sorry @ Baby’s All Right, 146 Broadway (THURS 8PM, $10-12)

On Thursday night, to shake off some pre-Halloween jitters, come out to Baby’s All Right for the release of Celestial Shore‘s Enter Ghost. Enjoy their jangly, dance-worthy tunes as well as that of the other bands including Baked with their rhythmic, psych-rock jams. Entering into a ghost world will never be as melodic as this.

 #3 Halloween Forever @ Silent Barn, 603 Bushwick Ave (FRI 9PM, $10 w/ costume, $12 w/out)

It’s the best part of Halloween! When our new favorite bands dress up like our old favorite bands and play the music of our old favorite bands with the essence of our new favorite bands. It sounds very confusing, but it’s actually really great. PA-based Banned Books is playing as the Pixies and Brooklyn, grunge-punkers, ADVAETA, are performing as Hole, which is also just supposed to happen. Definitely opt to wear a costume, pay the $10 and get really sweaty with all your young friends dressed like grunge-y aging rockers. No one will ever know if you are actually an aging rocker yourself. Halloween is the best!

#2 Palisades Family Halloween Basement Rager @ Palisades, 906 Broadway (FRI 7PM, FREE $6 after 8PM)

Palisades has a basement! Who knew?!? Well now we all will and hopefully it’s extra creepy for this Halloween rager. There is a stellar line-up of bands including BEIJU with their dream-y, indie melodies, the glitch-y, dance rock sounds of Life Size Maps, and a “slightly different” Turnip King! This show seems like it might last all night long, so wear a comfy costume, dance til your legs give out and then get cozy with all the other monster mashers in the new Palisades basement. It will be a great way to wear it in.

#1 Ramses Halloween Show: BEACH FOSSILS with mems. of WILD NOTHING as DEVO / OBERHOFER feat. CELESTIAL SHORE as T. REX / BEVERLY as THE PIXIES / ROYA as TELEVISION PERSONALITIES / DJ TASSY as NEIL DeTASSE TYSON @ 338 Moffat Studio E (FRI Oct 31 9PM, $13-15)

This show might melt faces. It takes place near a cemetery, which is both spooky and awesome. Perhaps you can bring candles and have a seance before attending the show that melts your face and possibly turns you into the best ghost over. Once you arrive, get ready to have your mind blown by Beach Fossils featuring members of Wild Nothing as they perform as DEVO. Not to mention Oberhofer featuring Celestial Shore playing as T. Rex. It is bound to be epic, full of 90’s grunge and hopefully a lot of dead rock stars dancing their skeletal asses off to the sounds of rockin’ music. Happy Halloween Bushwick!
