We originally had different plans for this round of Best of Bushwick 2018, but the unexpected closure of Terra Firma earlier this week put us in a brunchy mood.

Terra Firma was last year’s Best of Bushwick: Brunch winner after a contested round of voting. With their door permanently shuttered, this week seemed like an ideal time to revisit the topic and ask our readers who has the best brunch in Bushwick, East Williamsburg, and Ridgewood.

Brunch is, of course, the favored meal for many, many folks (except those who cook them for us). It’s also a surprisingly hot-button topic and everyone has an opinion: Who has the best booze deal, the most interesting menu, the best-executed food, the friendliest brunch staff, and the coziest spot? Whatever the reason, everybody has that one brunch spot they like over all others.

Before you get to nominating, let’s outline some criteria to keep this year’s voting nice and neat.

Nominated restaurants must have a dedicated brunch menu; so that spot you like that’s open during traditional brunch hours but doesn’t actually serve brunch is a no-go. It doesn’t have to have a “traditional” brunch menu, but it has to be a brunch menu.

We’re also looking for joints that serve brunch on the regular. Not a daily offering, necessarily, but we’re looking for at least weekly. You can skip the restaurants that only serve a few brunches a year on the big money-making occasions (we’re looking at you, recently-passed Valentine’s Day).

So, Bushwick — where is your absolute favorite place to brunch? Carry your bottomless mimosas and bloody marys into the comments below and let us know, with a few words on what makes them the best.

Nominations will close on Thursday, Feb. 22 at 11:59 pm.
