Last week presented a vast array of dramatic celestial events, ranging from the summer solstice to a new moon in Cancer. I don’t know how about you, friends, but I’ve had enough, and this week, I desire nothing more than to chill. No more energy shifts, please!

Luckily, once all these changes soak in, we will all be able to enjoy a highly productive and creative summer. So bring it on!

Monday: HIP Lit Summer Reading Series at NowaDays

7-10 p.m., Nowadays, 56-06 Cooper Ave., Ridgewood, FREE

The ideal Monday for many a literary enthusiast shall take place this Monday at the beloved outdoor venue, Nowadays, on the Bushwick-Ridgewood border. HIP Lit, organizers of some of the best readings in the neighborhood and beyond, have invited Olivia Kate Cerrone, Charlotte Shane, Chris Wolfe, and Zeeva Bukai to read from their new books. 

TUESDAY: Little Cinema No. 32 – Guess The Film At House of Yes

7-11 p.m., House of Yes, 2 Wyckoff Ave., Bushwick, $5-$47

The monthly Little Cinema is not your ordinary movie night. This month you have to guess a movie they’ll be reinterpreting in collaboration with The Love Show, a theatrical company to take your breath away. Come in a costume! 

Thursday: PPGA Tour at Bushwick Country Club (a Planned Parenthood fundraiser)

8-11 p.m., Bushwick Country Club, 618 Grand St., East Williamsburg

Your fave ironic country club is inviting you to take part in their mini-golf tournament. Promised are awesome prizes for the winners and raffle for everybody else. This is a benefit for Planned Parenthood, so what are you waiting for? 

Thursday: MADELIN / Betamax / Sean Mcverry / A is for Atom at The Footlight

8 p.m. – midnight, The Footlight, 465 Seneca Ave., Ridgewood, $10

Have you been to The Footlight yet? If not hurry there this Thursday because Footlight is hosting a bunch of great bands and also they are the BEST live music venue in the area as voted by you, dear readers. 

FRIDAY: ARKHAM: A Tribute to Italian Horror

10 p.m. – 4 a.m., Bizarre Bushwick, 12 Jefferson St., Bushwick, FREE

The monthly Brooklyn’s Gothic Dark dance party will pay tribute to Italian horror. DJ Alex Von Nihil will spin some synth, post-punk, and goth tunes, all the while Italian horror movies will play on the large screen.
