Bushwick Party Kids Get Slashed in a New Indie Horror Movie

A movie set in a Bushwick party scene centers on a killer on a rampage and the two struggling arts who try are trying to identify the murderer.

The oblivious hedonists at the heart of a Bushwick party scene get the slasher treatment in "PSYCHOTIC!," a new independent film by Bushwick auteurs Maxwell Frey & Derek Gibbons that premiers next month at the Brooklyn Horror Film Fest.

The 90-minute film, which the filmmakers characterize as influenced by giallo, the erotically charged Italian horror fiction genre, will play as part of the festival's showcase of locally produced new cinema.

"As if paying their ridiculous $1,400-a-month rent wasn't enough, struggling artists Tim & Stuart can't even enjoy the Brooklyn party scene without stumbling across mutilated bodies and a homicidal maniac's reign of terror," reads BHFF's summary of the flick.

The movie plays the fest on Saturday, October 15th at noon, and screens at the cinematic Wythe Avenue showroom of local company Throne Watches. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased on the BHFF website.
