As noted by Bushwick Daily last week, Amazon’s hit series “Mozart in the Jungle” shot on location at East Williamsburg practice space The Sweatshop last Wednesday and Thursday, to the delight of local fans.

If the shoot itself wasn’t excitement enough, patrons of Meserole Street watering hole Duck Duck Bar got to rub elbows with the show’s star on Thursday night, when Gael Garcia Bernal stopped by the spot in the evening.

On the show, which is inspired by the memoir “Mozart in the Jungle: Sex, Drugs, and Classical Music,” Bernal plays conductor Rodrigo De Souza, a character based on Venezuelan conductor Gustavo Adolfo Dudamel Ramírez.

Rodrigo’s eccentricities propel the show’s plotline, and Bernal capably portrays the talented weirdo. The role is a great fit for the actor, whose past roles include his turn as the quirky protagonist in Michel Gondry’s surreal 2006 film “The Science of Sleep.”

No word on whether the “Mozart” crew also stopped by Champs or got some bagels at Bread Brothers.
