Are you among those in the neighborhood getting ready for a week in the desert observing an ancient pagan rite?

If you’re in need of a festival warm up, another costume, or if you’re unable to make the journey to Black Rock Desert from August 28 through September 5 this year, head to House of Yes. Bushwick’s craziest venue just announced their four days of Burning Man-themed series of events.

You should be familiar with House of Yes by now. Every weekend they transform their massive event space into a spectacular (and in many cases titillating) party with acrobatic aerialists, DJs, unusual installations (think beer bathtub … stripper pole …) and loads of attractive people getting their dance on.

Here’s what’s on the schedule:

Love Muscle // Pre Playa Art Extravaganza

Friday, Aug. 19, 9 p.m.

This is your chance to see the artists known as Love Muscle’s interactive steel art installation before they bring it out to Black Rock. You’ll be able to climb on, swing on and dance on these huge steel creations. It’s also a fundraiser to help the group bring those very same creations to Nevada and beyond.

There will also be “Ketamine: the Musical,” a Gay Cowboy Salon and “free love.”

Wear your finest Burning Man-inspired garb, which could be absolutely nothing if you want it to be. This event is free before 11 p.m. with RSVP.

Taste of Dust: Nighttime Urban Oasis

Saturday, Aug. 20. 10 p.m.

This will be an insane dance party called Taste of Dust: Nighttime Urban Oasis with multiple DJs between two rooms. In the main room, look forward to Clarion, Tara Brooks, the Scumfrog and Kellam, and Tr(Otter), PartyFoul5000, PONY and Illexxxandra in the front room.

The evening will round out with fire performances, interactive art, large scale sculptures and sound healing. A portion of ticket sales will be donated to Burners Without Borders. Get your tickets here.

Burning Man costume market

Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 19 and 20, 11 a.m. – 6 p.m.

Get your desert wear from local designers and artists. The afternoon will be filled with all things blinking, sparkling, glowing and flowing.

It’s free to attend. And hey, you could do brunch right after.

Get Lit // Misfit Burn

Friday, September 2, 9 p.m. to 4 a.m.

House of Yes is teaming up with JunXion to bring you “an unimaginable amount of black lights and LEDs.” They’re calling it Get Lit. Which, in case you couldn’t tell, is a pun on the amount of illumination and how messy you’ll presumably get.

There will also be fire dances and beats provided by DJs, naturally. Bring a gift to share with fellow Burners. We’re not saying drugs are acceptable. Free before 11pm with RSVP.
