Do the Dog Days Right With Palehound & Friends at Trans-Pecos

A perfect lineup for a summer afternoon awaits at Trans-Pecos this Saturday.

There are only a few weekends left which properly qualify as summer—only a few more golden-hued, long, lazy afternoons perfect for cracking open a cold one before sundown. Make the most of your cutoff shorts and the tranquility that descends on the city when many of its denizens head out of town on vacation this coming Saturday, August 13th, when popular indie outfit Palehound hits the patio at Trans-Pecos for a post meridian hang alongside Gold Connections, Witch Coast, Heliotropes and Lemon Twigs.

Fronted by Ellen Kempner, Palehound comes to Brooklyn on the heels of a busy summer performing around the country and in Europe (they open for Dr. Dog in DC tomorrow), and the band will present material from the band's latest album, December 2015's "Dry Food," among older tunes from 2013's "Bent Nail."

Energized, Virginia-based Gold Connections will kick things off shortly after the doors open at 12pm, followed by harsher but no less compelling DC act Witch Coast. A set by Heliotropes, who are local and delightfully grungy, is up next, before Long island based psychedelic duo Lemon Twigs, who are preparing to release a full length album later this year and are recent signees on indie label 4AD, take the stage leading up to Palehound's set.

Tickets cost $9 are available in advance on Ticketfly, and the show should be over before 6:30 (plenty of time to catch the show and then grab dinner—or make it over to Market Hotel for Parquet Courts if you're a lucky ticket holder for that sold out show). Inclement weather will move things indoors.

Enjoy those dog days, Bushwick!
