The Ecuadorian Film Festival in New York will present 9 feature films, a collection of shorts and an awards ceremony spread across three locations throughout the city on Saturday, June 4th and Sunday, June 5th. The local offerings will be presented Syndicated on Bogart St in East Williamsburg: additional screenings will take place at Village Cinema East and at the Queens Museum.

Tickets range in price from $10-$20, with several free screenings, including the shorts, which are family friendly, and half of the proceeds from ticket sales will benefit The Ecuadorian Shelter Initiative, an organization which is building temporary shelters from earthquake debris.

Bushwick's Ecuadorian community is one several Ecuadorian enclaves in the city; in the wake of earthquake, officials and Bushwick residents came together to mourn those lost and pray for the survivors at a vigil in Maria Hernandez park.
