Art all day every day is the theme this weekend. Bushwick has a fresh mix of openings, closings and special events, plus one major anniversary party featuring works of art that cost less than your lunch and an artist talk, what more could you ask for?!? Don't answer that.

#1 "Making History" Raffle Event @ Storefront Ten Eyck (SUN 4-8 pm)

Arts in Bushwick's "Making History" benefit culminates with the chance to take home your very own piece of Bushwick history. The raffle event will be emcee'd again this year by Dr. Lisa Levy, taking place this Sunday evening from 4 - 8 pm. Preview the works online and purchase your ticket to be part of the big night as we look forward to Bushwick Open Studios! Featuring 400 local artists, "Making History" has been reviewed in the New Criterion and discussed by Paul D'Agostino and volunteer organizer Cibele Viera in the L Magazine.

#2   "Art Shop II" + One Year Anniversary Party @ 99 Cent Plus (FRI 6 PM)

Shop til your little art lovin' self drops this Friday at 99 Cent Plus Art Shop II. To celebrate its one year anniversary it's giving us a second dose of Art Shop featuring work from from nine local galleries who have each donated eleven works of art (totaling to 99 pieces all for $9.99 each!!!). All  proceeds will go toward  benefiting the 99¢ Plus Gallery and creating an environment that makes art of all levels accessible.

#3 "What It Was" @ NURTUREart (FRI 7 PM)

"What It Was" is the result of Project Curate program which connects high school students with art professionals to expose students to the art world in hopes of building confidence, experience, and relationships along the way. "What It Was" sheds light on common anxieties we all feel from time to time (or maybe all the time) surrounding our future. Local high schools play with perspectives and possibilities through a variety of mediums.

#4 "Thebes" + "TOBY" @ Wayfarers (FRI 7 PM)

Wayfarers has a two-fer this Friday night with two openings: "Thebes," curated by Ferro Strouse Gallery, features Harry Cushing, Juliana Merz and A.W. Strouse and will leave you trippin' with kaleidoscope-like imagery and mystery. Plus a special poetry reading from A.W. Strouse himself! Also showing on the "TOBY" Project Wall: Chika Matsuda curated by Candace Moeller.

#5 "Hide and Seek" @ Fresh Window (FRI 7-9 pm)

In exploring the the daily conscious or unconscious participation in the popular childhood game of hide and seek, Fresh Window's new exhibition of works reveals how this game has become such a part of our life's routine, as hiding is for most their reality as they try to live a "regular" life; hiding becomes a reality distorting what we are seeking. "Hide and Seek" features Margaret Coleman, Susanne Hofer, Kyoung eun Kang and Wei Xiaoguang.

#6 Artist Talk: "James Hannaham: Lengthy Statements/Brief Statements" @ Kimberly - Klark (SAT 7 - 9 PM)

For the closing reception of James Hannahan's "Lengthy Statements/ Brief Statements" James will speak with installation artist Sheila Pepe on Saturday at 7:30 pm. The discussion will offer attendees insight into Kimberly-Klark Gallery's latest exhibition and how it all came together.

#7 Artist Talk: "Textual" @ ODETTA  (SUN 4 PM)

229 Cook Street.

Although "Textual" opened on April 24th at ODETTA, it's adding another dimension this Sunday with an artists' talk. "Textual" features Leonardo Benzant, Annette Cords, Elana Herzog, and Ken Weathersby, who come together to discuss the commonalities between texture and language throughout history.
