TGIF because summer is on the horizon; it’s one week closer to Bushwick Open Studios, and you are mere seconds away from the weekend. The Arts in Bushwick Blog has been gearing up for its biggest event of the year #BOS15 by covering some of the latest art happenings in the neighborhood. Check out the links below to catch up:

Anne Trauben took over an old convent in “The Art and Craft of Paper.” The ten invited artists—Etty Yaniv, Sylvia Schwartz, Jaynie Gillman Crimmins, Anonda Bell, Alex Paik, Margaret Weber, Liz Jaff, Austin Thomas, Diane Tenerelli-June, and Ryan Sarah Murphy—presented work using the oft-used but under-appreciated medium of paper in Paper Constructions.

 If you haven’t yet visited the Arts in Bushwick benefit exhibition Making History, here’s your chance to view some of the works on display: check out “Chasing History: The 2015 AiB Benefit Exhibition.” Nothing compares to seeing in person the 400 works on display, so head on over to Storefront Ten Eyck. The exhibition will close with a raffle on May 10 from 4PM to 8PM (you can still purchase tickets via the online gallery).

   Profiling the deeply personal work of artists who are currently or were formerly incarcerated as well as those who are affiliated with the prison system is “A Community Responds: The Confined Arts 2nd Edition.” Learn about the efforts of Isaac Scott in curating this exhibition at Shwick Market .
