Our City Council, particularly James Vacca and Christine Quinn, are asleep at the wheel. They should be leading the fight to stop more New Yorkers from dying.

You all raise good points about how the roads are set up currently and the lack of answers about these hit-and-runs. DOT and NYPD may not find the topics convenient, but the problem will get worse if not addressed.

But as much as David Naczycz is trying to extend the olive branch to motorist, he’s wrong when he say’s cases like Conner’s dont demonstrate who should be blamed as much as what should be done. We cant forget that whoever hit Conner left him to die alone in the street.

The glaring problem not pointed out though is that the Grand St. bike lane basically leads you into a death trap. It’s great that the city is putting up more bike lanes but some of the bike lanes lead right to these problem intersections with no where to go.
