The Fort Brooklyn is one of Bushwick’s finest recording studios that welcomes musicians of all genres. Run by owner and engineer Jim Bentley, the space features a ton of equipment, from monitors and pics to effects proccessors. Rates are extremely reasonable- $30/hr on weekdays and $40/hr on weekends, and that price includes Jim working with you. When I visited the studio, Bushwick metal band Mutant Supremacy was recording and mastering their split 7″ with Chicago’s Cardiac Arrest. Brooklyn band Phanto Dynamo and the Shiney Piecs also recorded a live album here, which was released on Little Skips record company.The space is clean and attractive, high ceilings and a plethora of space for gear, recording and relaxing.
